Taian Waterfall is located in Caolan Mountain, Qidu District. Also known as "Caolan Mountain Waterfall", it is a protected forest area with a natural water source. It has a complete and lush forest. Due to the inconvenience of transportation in the past and its secluded location in a clear and remote valley, it has preserved its simple and natural scenery.
After entering Tai'an Waterfall, walk along the shaded path, and you will see a thin white waterfall cascading down from between green giant rocks, forming a clear pool. It is quite spectacular. The water here is unpolluted and very clear. You can even see fish swimming freely in the water. The stream is lined with trees and ferns, with rich ecology and beautiful environment. You can also see water birds perched on the rocks, foraging and preening their feathers. It is like a natural classroom where you can relax and unwind.
The small pools in the wading area are refreshingly cool, and in summer, you can see many children and adults having a great time playing here. The summer heat is completely absent here; all you'll find is the cool, clear stream water. Gathering with friends for a BBQ is definitely a great place to strengthen friendships. If you want to take a leisurely stroll and quietly enjoy nature's embrace, there's a mountain trail next to the waterfall. Walking along the waterfall and up the trail allows you to experience a forest bath filled with phytoncides. The area boasts rich ecology and offers opportunities for nature observation and other activities, making it perfect for families.
Because Qidu is located in the inland area of Keelung, it is less affected by the direct northeast monsoon, making it suitable for visiting year-round.
