Qidu Old Station is an old railway station of Taiwan Railways Administration, a legacy of the Japanese era. It is the only railway station in Taiwan that has never been demolished or rebuilt. In order to promote land use and local development, the former Qidu Front Station (Old Station) was closed on January 21, 2007, in conjunction with the route change of the Taiwan Railways Administration. The old wooden station building was handed over to the Keelung City Government Cultural Affairs Bureau free of charge. The Cultural Affairs Bureau hired a professional design company to renovate it according to its original appearance. A railway cultural relics memorial park was built on the original site of the old station building. In addition to preserving the local cultural characteristics, it also provides tourists with a scenic spot with both cultural and recreational functions.
