Fumin Water Park

Fumin Waterfront Park is located in the Malingkeng Leisure Agriculture Area, adjacent to the small and exquisite Malingkeng Creek. Originally, this place was just a small riverside park, but the Keelung City Government later planned it as a waterfront park, allowing more people to come and enjoy the company of green mountains and clear waters. Moreover, Qidu is a mountainous area, and the mountain streams bring fresh greenery, making the place even more tranquil and secluded. The waterfront valley area is right next to it, making it a perfect place for leisure and outings.
The most famous feature of the park is the approximately 850-meter-long Maxi Tung Blossom Viewing Trail, located opposite the Maxi Creek. This man-made trail, though expanded, retains its natural environment and hasn't suffered much damage from human intervention. Upon entering the trail, you'll see tung trees standing tall. Every April and May, when the tung blossoms are in full bloom, the trail is lined with blossoms, creating a vibrant carpet of pink that's almost more captivating than the red carpet of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Furthermore, the surrounding green water, fish, and tung blossoms, bathed in sunlight, create a beautiful symphony, leaving visitors completely mesmerized by this breathtaking scenery.
During the tung blossom season, Keelung is covered in tung flowers, but they are rarely noticed by outsiders because the tung trees are all on the mountains, and there are few hiking trails that allow people to observe them up close. So most people can only admire the snow-covered mountains covered in tung blossoms from afar.
Due to the active promotion of ecological conservation in recent years, many streams in Keelung have been closed to fish, and Malingkeng Stream is one of them. Therefore, fishing is prohibited in this stream area as it is undergoing restoration. However, this has also made the water quality in the stream quite clear and clean. Fish and shrimp can be clearly seen in the bottom of the stream, and small fish and shrimp swim freely. Dragonflies and butterflies can also be seen lightly skimming the surface of the stream from time to time, showing that the closure of the stream to protect fish has been quite effective.
In addition to enjoying the tung blossoms, this area also has a variety of recreational facilities planned for construction. So, regardless of whether it is the season for tung blossoms or not, visiting Fumin Waterfront Park is a good choice. Combining it with a leisure farm near Malingkeng Creek for a nature trip is the best way to enjoy nature and green relaxation.
