Warm Twins Land God Temple

Located next to Nuannuan Water Park, the Land God Temple was founded in the 9th year of the Xianfeng Emperor's reign and has a long history. What makes it most unique in Taiwan is that it has two Land Gods and two temples. The one on the right is Fuxing Palace and the one on the left is Fude Palace, which respectively govern Xishi Village and Dongshi Village. The temple is very popular and the temple is small, beautiful and unique.
Why are there two Earth Gods in this temple? On the one hand, the location where the residents of Dongshi Creek worship the Earth God happens to be at the confluence of the East and West Creeks. On the other hand, during the Japanese occupation, the residents of the upper reaches of the West Creek had to relocate to Dongshi Creek because the Japanese built the West Creek Reservoir. The ancestors of the East and West Creeks consulted the two Earth Gods by casting divination blocks before moving the West Creek Earth God to this location for worship, resulting in two Earth Gods in the same place. To distinguish them, the current East Creek Earth God Temple is called "Fude Palace", while the West Creek Earth God Temple that moved here is called "Fuxing Palace".
Because of this story, the land gods of Fuxing Temple and Fude Temple became neighbors around 1941. After decades of local efforts, they were rebuilt to their current size in 2003 and truly became one. They were renamed the Twin Land God Temple, and this unique scene has attracted many believers and tourists.
The Shuangsheng Earth God Temple is not only very effective for the general public, but also because the two Earth Gods are in charge of the East and West Shixi Rivers respectively, making them objects of worship for water company personnel. Especially when there is a water shortage crisis in the Keelung area, the water company manager will also go to the Shuangsheng Earth God Temple to burn incense and pray for rain.
Besides being a local religious center, the temple is surrounded by historical and cultural sites and natural beauty, such as the Nuannuan Creek potholes, the dammed waterfall, the red brick slabs, and the Xishi Reservoir. It often attracts many tourists. Surrounded by natural beauty and historical sites, the two earth god brothers, who have shared the incense offerings for centuries, have protected all living beings and become the deepest spiritual support in the hearts of the local people.
