# Harbor & Coastal Settlements

Keelung Harbor is located at the northern tip of Taiwan Island, between Fugui Cape and Bitou Cape. Surrounded by mountains on its east, west, and south sides, the harbor opens to the northwest and flows into the inner harbor to the southwest, forming a narrow waterway about 2,000 meters long and 400 meters wide. It serves multiple functions, including a military port and a commercial port, making it an excellent harbor in northern Taiwan.
"The Arrival of Giant Ships" is one of the most captivating attractions in Keelung Harbor. Bustling tourists invariably stop to admire the sight of these massive ships slowly entering and exiting. Surrounded by mountains on three sides and facing the sea on the other, Keelung Harbor boasts a unique "port area that is also the city center" characteristic among international ports in Taiwan, making it a place renowned for its long history and rich culture. Since its construction, Keelung Harbor has been a hub of bustling activity, a constant presence in Taiwan's economic miracle. Therefore, witnessing the prosperity of Keelung Harbor is tantamount to witnessing a "microcosm of Taiwan."
The beautiful and attractive Keelung Harbor offers more than just shore views. You can also take a sightseeing yacht along the scenic blue highway and enjoy the thrill of riding the waves. There are various itineraries to choose from. You can opt for an in-depth tour of Keelung, where you can see large shipyards, the container loading and unloading process at the harbor, admire the beautiful scenery of Guanghua Tower, and even visit Zhengbin Fishing Port and the east and west docks of Keelung to enjoy the unique charm of this port city.
Strolling through Keelung Port, one can often see international luxury passenger ships, cruise ships, and domestic and foreign passenger and cargo ships docked here. In recent years, Keelung Port has also begun to transform into a port that combines tourism and waterfront activities, gradually becoming a new and romantic tourist attraction in Keelung.
