Chung Cheng Park

Located right next to the harbor and built against the mountain, Chung Cheng Park is Keelung's most well-known scenic spot. The huge Guanyin Buddha statue on the mountaintop has become a landmark for ships entering the harbor, and the ever-smiling Maitreya Buddha welcomes every visitor.
Zhongzheng Park is easily accessible. Visitors can drive up Shoushan Road to the parking lot of Dafu Temple; or they can climb the steps from the archway opposite the fire station on Xin'er Road, where two tree-lined paths lead up. The first level features the remains of a fort and sports facilities, the second level is the main altar for the Ghost Festival, and the third level has a huge Guanyin statue. In addition, there are Dafu Temple, a Buddhist library, a scenic restaurant, and the Living Water Hall, providing a great place for people to relax and stroll on weekends.
The main altar in Zhongzheng Park is also one of Keelung's landmarks and the main site of the Keelung Ghost Festival. The Guanhai Pavilion offers a panoramic view of the harbor area, allowing visitors to watch ships come and go and enjoy the sunrise and sunset sea views. The White-Robed Guanyin Buddha statue in front of Dafu Temple is the most prominent landmark in Keelung City. Built in 1969, it is 22.5 meters tall and has five floors inside. Visitors can climb up to enjoy the vast mountain and sea views.
