Chaojing Park

"Tide zone" refers to the area where cold and warm currents mix, especially the area where the Kuroshio and Oyashio currents mix in the western Pacific Ocean. This area is rich in plankton, which can attract migratory fish to gather and become a fishing ground. In other words, it is a place where fish schools are more likely to gather. In summer, the nearby waters are always full of ribbonfish and soft-toothed bigmouth bass, which always attract many anglers.
Chaojing Park was originally a garbage dump. After being renovated by the Preparatory Office of the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology, it has become a great place to enjoy the sea view. The park, named "Chaojing" because it is located next to a fishing port and fishing village, hopes to bring the place a continuous source of resources and abundance through this name.
The only entrance to Chaojing Park is a small orange-red bridge called "Pinglang Bridge" located between Changtanli Fishing Port and Wanghai Lane Fishing Port. After crossing this bridge, Changtanli Fishing Village and Fishing Port are on the left, while the open sea-eroded platform and sea view are on the right. In the spring and summer of Chaojing, the sea-eroded platform at low tide is the best natural classroom. The rich and diverse natural ecology makes everyone exclaim in amazement. Everyone's feet are soaking in the cool seawater, and their eyes are constantly exploring the interesting intertidal creatures. It's so lively!
In addition, there is a well-planned and exquisitely constructed pedestrian sleeper walkway, where you can stroll and relax while enjoying the gentle sea breeze, creating a truly poetic atmosphere. There are also many symbolic sculptures that enhance the artistic ambiance. Within Chaojing Park, there is also a spacious lawn and pavilions, with sea-view walking paths, tree-lined walking paths, and bicycle paths on both sides of the lawn, allowing people to leisurely stroll and enjoy the scenery or ride bicycles while feeling the cool breeze on their faces.
Besides enjoying the beautiful sea view, you can also get a close look at the coastal geology and ecological landscape of the waters surrounding Fanzai'ao Bay during the day, and enjoy the scenery of Keelung Mountain in the distance. When the sun sets, you can not only see the charming sunset and the lights of Jiufen that light up one after another like jewels, which is dazzling, but also the fishing lights on the sea that reflect the sunset are an excellent sight that you should not miss.
Chaojing Park is a newly emerging tourist attraction in Keelung City, attracting a constant stream of visitors on holidays. The park boasts rich ecology and beautiful scenery, and its intertidal zone is a great place for family outings and outdoor learning for children.
