Wanghai Lane Cross-Sea Landscape Bridge

The scenic bridge is 168 meters long and is the most crucial mile connecting Keelung City and New Taipei City for pedestrian space. However, it was extremely difficult to construct, as it had to withstand strong winds from the coast and take into account the impact on fishing boats and fishermen's operations. The bridge is designed with a steel structure and incorporates the surrounding intertidal ecological landscape. It features a natural and understated design with a clear concrete structure and visually permeable railings, connecting the coastal and round-the-island bicycle paths and extending to Shuijinjiu in New Taipei City.

Wanghai Lane Fishing Port was originally one of the fishing ports with low utilization rates as announced by the Executive Yuan. With the construction of the cross-harbor bridge and the improvement of pedestrian-friendly spaces, it is expected to be transformed into a tourist and recreational fishing port. Combining the existing coastal environment, the surrounding fishing village cultural buildings, the National Museum of Marine Science and Technology, and coastal landscape resources, the overall tourism service capacity will be enhanced. With the connection of the Taiwan Railway Shen'ao Branch Line and the 1579 Express Bus, it will serve as a tourist node for tourists to enjoy a leisurely tour of the northern coast of Keelung.
