Tiger Mountain Trail

When visiting Keelung, you'll often be drawn to the large "KEELUNG" lettering on the hilltop – that's where Tiger Hill is located. This design has made Tiger Hill a new landmark in Keelung. Planned and constructed by the Keelung City Government in 2006, it underwent numerous revisions and the efforts of many parties before its completion. It has become a unique recreational landscape in Keelung, its Hollywood-inspired design quite creative and a source of pride for many Keelung residents, while also captivating tourists. Driving up the small road next to the gas station on Zhongshan 2nd Road, after passing through the vertically ascending Cheta Tunnel, you'll reach Tiger Hill.
The Huzishan Trail boasts stunning scenery along its route, lush with greenery and offering panoramic views of the east coast harbor. It's an excellent vantage point for overlooking Keelung Harbor and also provides views of the Guanyin statue in Zhongzheng Park. On a clear day, you can even see Keelung Mountain in Ruifang in the distance, and even Keelung Island in the sea, creating a truly breathtaking vista. The Keelung City night view is an unmissable spectacle; the city lights twinkling against the tranquil sea create a soothing and calming atmosphere.
Alternatively, you can go up Lane 241, Zhongshan 1st Road, and you will pass Qianfo Temple in about 5 minutes. The main hall of the temple has nearly a thousand statues of the Thousand-Hand Guanyin and Buddhist statues left over from the Japanese occupation period. It is quite spectacular and solemn. In addition to worshiping, you can also rest here on your way back.
When you come to Tiger Mountain, you can consider driving north along Zhongshan 2nd Road to visit attractions such as Fairy Cave Rock, Buddha's Hand Cave, Baimiweng Fortress and Wai Mu Shan Beach. These are all good sightseeing options.
