After the Vietnam War ended and the US military withdrew, Taiwan's economy began to take off, and the number of people in the upper class and the wealthy gradually increased. In order to improve their social class, so-called "imported goods" began to become popular among the upper class, which allowed Keelung consignment shops to continue to survive. However, since the opening of tourism in 1979, many Taiwanese people have been going abroad to purchase goods. The imported goods are diverse, the trade market has opened up, and with the entry of merchants selling dried goods, food, daily necessities, and antiques, Keelung consignment shops have gradually lost their important position under the impact of the times. At present, the Keelung consignment shops mainly refer to the Xiaoer Road business district. When strolling through it, one can still faintly smell a trace of the good old days.
